Colophon
This site is the reading home for Architects of the Void: The Entrepreneurial Lawyer as Sub-Creator, a working paper by Seth C. Oranburg. The whole site is set from a single Markdown source, so the screen and the printed page show the same text.
Type
The essay is set in Georgia, an oldstyle serif drawn for reading at length on a screen. The apparatus around it, the contents, the footnote numbers, and the small labels, is set in the reader's own system sans, kept quiet so it stays out of the way of the argument.
Construction
The pages are built with Astro as plain static HTML and served from Cloudflare Pages, rebuilt from source on each revision. The seventy-odd footnotes are written once and rendered twice: as sidenotes in the margin beside the line that calls them on a wide screen, and as endnotes at the foot of the essay on a narrow one and in print.
